Electronic resources mainly consist of contents that are stored and displayed digitally
and accessed via computers and other electronic devices. Patrons can access these
collections within or beyond the physical facilities of the Library. The electronic
format enables increased usability of library resources, allowing expanded searching
and access.
The KFUPM Library is spending a major part of its materials budget on acquiring
scholarly contents in electronic format in support of the university's academic
and research programs. Electronic Resources at KFUPM Library mostly consists of
the following:

Online Databases:
The KFUPM Library currently subscribes to assorted collection of 46 online databases.
Some of these databases are full-text while others are bibliographic with abstracts.
Some of the major full-text databases are;
ABI Inform Global, Academic Search Premier,
Digital Dissertations,
IEEE Xplore, American
Chemical Society Package,Emerald
Fulltext Plus,
Royal Society of Chemistry Package, etc. Through these databases
users can access full-text of more than 15,000 journals.

E-Books:
In addition to access to individual e-books, the Library is subscribing to seven
e-books databases like; ebrary,
Safari Techbooks Online,
Credo Reference, etc. Library patrons can access more than 40,000 e-books
through these databases.

E-Journals:
In addition to online databases, the users can access more than 700 individual e-journals.

E-Encyclopedias:
The Library also provides access to eight online encyclopedias, including Britannica
and Encyclopedia of Knowledge Management.
- Who Can Access KFUPM E-sources?
Members of KFUPM community are able to access most of the electronic resources from
within the University campus (Intranet, part of the kfupm.edu.sa domain), without
a username and password.
- What if an e-resource is unavailable?
At times, for some reasons, an electronic resource may be temporarily unavailable,
for example; the system load may be unusually heavy or slow Internet access etc.
If a resource is unavailable, just try again later. However, if a resource is consistently
unavailable, or you are not able to access full-text of an authorized contents,
please call extension 3154 or 1098, alternatively you may send an e-mail to:
