The Library Systems Department supports all current and future information technology
needs of the KFUPM Libraries
Functions
- Articulating a vision of the library's future and coordinating long-range planning
for the continued integration of information technology into library services
- Planning, management, evaluation, development, and maintenance of the Integrated
Library System (ILS)
- Working closely with the Library Information System (LIS) group of the Academic
Information System (AIS) Division of the Information Technology Center on all library
automation related matters
- Communicating with ILS providers to resolve problems
- Testing of new versions and releases of the ILS
- Designing, developing, and maintaining the Library website
- Maintaining and improving computer hardware and software for over 100 workstations
used by the patrons and the staff.
