SERIALS DEPARTMENT

The Serials Department strives to fulfill the information needs of the university community by subscribing to materials in a variety of formats. The academic departments and their faculty make a significant contribution to the development of library collections and therefore, their participation in the materials evaluation process is encouraged. The Serials Department is responsible for formulating and updating collection development policies, preparing the library financial requirements and expenditures, selection of vendors and reviewing their services. The department subscribes to print journals, e-journals, e-databases, e-books, e-encyclopedias, e-handbooks, society publications, and publishers� databases, checks them -in, and ensures that updated information is available online promptly
